I've been playing Brawl every night with my boyfriends (except Chris doesn't play as often as we do), and friend [info]endlessseeker or Jordan's friend. It's addicting, and I lose track of time, so my nights go by quicker than usual. So far, I'm liking Pit, Sonic, and R.O.B. I'm trying to get better at guarding and dodge rolling, since Jordan and Daniel are so quick.

I surprised Chris tonight by getting him food from his favorite restaurant down here. He was so miserable today because he didn't feel like making burgers for dinner, which made it more diabolically enjoyable to me. I enlisted the help of Jordan too. Right after work, I went and got the food; meanwhile, I told Chris that I had to work overtime. So when I got home, I sneakily placed the food at the doorstep, and texted Jordan to tell him to open the front door.

BAM. AIDS. Oops, I mean SURPRISE. Granted, it took longer than I wanted to squat near the patio for, it was worth seeing his happy expression. It was all apart of my scheme anniversary gift. THANKS CUB FOR HELPING. YOU'LL GET YOUR SURPRISE SOON ENOUGH........

Last night's fireworks show that we were expecting to be awesome completely fizzled out. Literally. It was supposed to last 20 minutes or so, but we only got to see 5 minutes' worth before it malfunctioned. The worst part was having to wait for an hour to get out of the parking lot. Never again will I go to the fairgrounds.

Friday was my sister's birthday, so we went bowling with my family. I did surprisingly well after the first game, but my left leg is really sore now. I worked out Friday night, which was a bad idea...and I'll probably do it again tonight.

This week I'll be in my supervisor's position, so hopefully I won't screw up anything. I'm pretty confident in doing all the duties, but I'll still be helping the trainee. There's going to be so many changes once my supervisor retires the last day of this month, so I don't know if it'll be for the better. I'm glad there will be no more country music, though!

Chris and I have been watching my Psych season one boxset, and I'm glad he's enjoying it. I haven't watched it in forever, so it feels like I'm watching new episodes. I stopped watching the show a little into the second season; mainly because I always forget to watch new episodes of any show when it's on a schedule.

HELP ME THINK OF NAMES FOR MY iPOD THAT'S COMING TOMORROW, PEOPLE. I'm thinking 'Smitty.'

I want to do this for a living. Screw entomology.

Edit: "Another example of tickle torture was used in Ancient Rome, where a person’s feet are dipped in a salt solution, and a goat is brought in to lick the solution off. This type of tickle torture would only start as tickling, eventually becoming extremely painful." D:

This is why old cartoons are 100x more disturbing than modern ones. )

I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions on my PSP all week. The original PSX one was my favorite game until now. This edition is much better, with a better translation, beautiful cutscenes, and a heap of added content.

I'll be training yet another person this week, and I hope she's fit enough for the position because I think she's older than George was, and she's a smoker. Everyone's always surprised when they realize how physical the job is.

I'm going to be off Friday and next Monday! Chris and I will be seeing his family Friday-Sunday (the reunion is Saturday), so I'll probably gain weight from all the food.

Here is a very important question I want to ask all of you:

How do you get your music?

WHY DOES IT TAKE FOREVER FOR SOMEONE TO DIE IN NARUTO?

Granted I only watched 18 episodes so far, I'm still like, GOD DAMN. NO MORE FLASHBACKS OF THINGS THAT JUST OCCURRED TWO MINUTES AGO PLEASE.

Another department gained control of the mailroom yesterday, so I have a new boss, which was a bummer. I loved my department, but they said they're not casting me away. I'll still be invited to potlucks and they want me to still be in our Clue-themed Halloween.

Also, eating breakfast is harder than flossing. Seriously. When I ask myself: sleep in or eat, I usually settle for the former.

Today was George's funeral service. I held my composure pretty well throughout it, but when my co-worker (his supervisor) got up to speak, it was really hard not to tear up. Then a few of his family members spoke about their memories of him.

Then I walked up and spoke to everyone about mine. I apologized for being shaky, and had a rough time putting my thoughts into words. I felt like I was rambling, and when I shifted my head to the right where his open casket was, I had to pause to catch my breath.

I'm still baffled how I was with him the whole work day last Monday, and then spoke about him in the past tense this morning. This is actually the second funeral I've ever attended. It's just a strange feeling. My supervisor was telling a co-worker of mine that I'm an emotional person.

Anyway, I got a great deal on the first two seasons of Psych from Amazon ($13.99 each :o). The second season arrived today, and the first one won't until Monday, SO I'LL HAVE TO WAIT TO GET MY FIX. I tried keeping up with the series when they were airing new episodes, but I don't really stick to watching anything that's in a time slot.

I bought FFVII for [info]tendo64 last night. They actually released it on the PlayStation Network (for PS3/PSP), so I wanted him to experience one of the best RPGs since he never played it. It's so weird thinking that I pre-ordered the game back in 1997, which came with a Cloud shirt that easily got worn out.

GOOD TIMES.

Chris and I decided to do something yesterday. After we finished eating at Souplantation (Oh my God, nomnomnom), I told him we should go somewhere to get out of the house. He suggested a hiking trail in a small town nearby. Here's pictures of our adventure. BE WARNED. THERE'S LOTS OF PICTURES OF VAST NOTHINGNESS AND DESERT. I'M TOO LAZY TO DELETE THEM.

Up was seriously amazing from start to finish. I wasn't expecting much, and could have waited for a DVD release, but Chris wanted to see a movie with me. I'm really glad we did because it was the perfect film. It tugged on our heartstrings and entertained us (which is pretty much a given for Pixar movies), but this one really hit me.

DEFINITE MUST-SEE. GO NOW. IT WILL PLEASE YOU. IT WILL PLEASE ME.

Lately I've been thinking about future plans. Now that I'll be a supervisor next month, I'll be earning more. I'm going to be putting more into my savings for Chris, Jordan, and me. I'm pretty amazed that the year is almost halfway over with.

It'll be Chris' and my two-year anniversary in July, and our one-year with Jordan in August. I just want to be able to afford a living for the three of us in the future because they deserve to be happy.

Uhh, I thought I had more to talk about, but I guess I'll leave it at that.

EDIT: OH! I beat Crisis Core, and the ending made me tear up, even though I saw it before and knew what happened in the first place. Eff Cloud and Aerith. It's all about Zack and Aerith.

I'm playing FFT: War of the Lions now, and what the HELL did they do with the battle animations? They're so incredibly slowed down, and it's obvious it was an error considering the sound effects are delayed. Ah well, I still get a portable fix of one of my favorite RPGs; including Balthier in it is just tops.

My co-worker gave me Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories today. Chris is a bigger fan of the series, but I wanted to check the PSP games out since they're rated pretty highly. I hope this time I can beat the game instead of beating pedestrians. :{
